‘Integrity Letter’ Expressing Commitment to Integrity Delivered to All Contracted Companies

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan Port Authority (BPA) has announced a ‘Integrity Letter’ expressing its commitment to becoming a transparent and corruption-free organization.


On the 15th, BPA stated that it recently delivered the ‘Integrity Letter’ to companies when signing contracts for accounting, tax, and information security consulting, and will send the Integrity Letter for all future contracts with external customers.


The ‘Busan Port Authority Integrity Letter,’ issued under the name of President Nam Ki-chan, contains the determination to establish Busan Port as a world-class maritime logistics hub while becoming a transparent and corruption-free organization, earning love and trust from the public as a global port company.


The Integrity Letter includes three key commitments to integrity practice. First is ‘Open Administration,’ pledging to transparently disclose all projects and policy directions pursued by the authority and to lead the implementation of open administration by collecting and reflecting public opinions.


Second is ‘Improvement of Systems and Practices Causing Corruption and Irregularities,’ promising to eliminate inappropriate practices in line with public expectations and become an organization that satisfies customers through integrity.


Third is ‘Strict Measures Against Corrupt Actors,’ expressing the authority’s commitment to anti-corruption and integrity by applying a zero-tolerance principle regardless of rank to employees who violate integrity obligations and taking strict actions.


Nam Ki-chan, President of Busan Port Authority, said, “To create a global hub port loved by the public, it is necessary to make integrity a way of life,” adding, “This Integrity Letter is a pledge by all employees of the authority to become public officials of integrity and an expression of their commitment to practicing integrity.”
