[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Go Dallyoung] Jang Young-su, the governor of Jangsu County, Jeonbuk, announced on the 15th that he met with Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun the previous day to actively request cooperation on Jangsu County's pending projects.

According to the county, Governor Jang met with Prime Minister Chung at the government Sejong office to propose key projects including attracting the Korea Racing Authority (KRA) headquarters to Jeollabuk-do, establishing a KRA training center in Jangsu, and hosting untact (non-face-to-face) horse racing at Let's Run Farm Jangsu Ranch in preparation for the post-COVID-19 era.

Since the opening of Let's Run Farm Jangsu Ranch, the largest inland racehorse breeding ranch, in 2007, the county has focused on developing the horse industry. Currently, it operates the Jangsu Horse Riding Experience Center, Horse Riding Leisure Town, and Jangsu Riding Grounds, establishing itself as the undisputed inland hub of the horse industry. On the 3rd, an indoor hill track was created at Jangsu Ranch, enabling effective racehorse training with advanced equipment and systematic systems.

Accordingly, Governor Jang expressed to Prime Minister Chung the plan to attract the KRA headquarters to Jeollabuk-do and simultaneously establish a training center in Jangsu County to promote systematic training of racehorses and jockeys and foster growth in the domestic horse riding industry.

In particular, by attracting the KRA headquarters within Jeollabuk-do, the plan aims to secure international competitiveness and promote growth of the domestic horse industry through more effective management.

Additionally, in response to COVID-19, the county plans to lead K-Sports projects by conducting untact races at Let's Run Farm Jangsu Ranch.

Furthermore, considering Jangsu County's geographical characteristics, where forests cover more than 70% of the total area, and integrating the history of Gaya culture formed across Yeongnam and Honam regions, the county plans to create the Baekdudaegan Yuksipryeong Mountain Garden at Jangsu Yuksipryeong Pass as a venue for Yeongnam-Honam harmony.

Governor Jang Young-su stated, "With the attraction of the KRA training center to Jangsu County, which has established itself as the mecca of the horse industry, we expect to secure global competitiveness of the domestic horse industry and contribute to the revitalization of K-Sports in the post-COVID-19 era." He emphasized, "We will build a close cooperative system with the central government to swiftly advance Jangsu County's pending projects."
