Investment of 2.66 Billion Won, Providing 600 Jobs in Over 50 Projects
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City announced on the 15th that it is recruiting participants for the COVID-19 Overcome Hope Job Project.
The Hope Job Project was established to support livelihoods by providing public jobs to vulnerable groups and to revitalize the local economy. The city will invest a total project cost of 2.66 billion won to provide 600 jobs across about 50 projects.
Eligible participants are anyone aged 18 or older with the ability to work, including employment-vulnerable groups, those unemployed or closed businesses due to COVID-19, and any Gwangyang citizens in need of livelihood support due to the local economic downturn.
Participants will work 15 to 40 hours per week at project locations from August to November, receiving a wage of 8,590 won per hour along with the four major social insurances. Applications are accepted from July 15 to 24, and those wishing to participate must bring their ID and submit the application form and required documents at the resident registration jurisdiction's eup/myeon/dong office.

Moon Byung-joo, Director of the Investment and Job Division, said, “Through the Hope Job Project, we hope to provide temporary but economic assistance to citizens struggling due to COVID-19,” and added, “We will continue to make our best efforts to prepare various jobs in the future.”
