[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 15th that it will recruit companies to participate in the 2020 Jeonnam Youth Long-term Employment Incentive Support Project on the 24th.
The Jeonnam Youth Long-term Employment Incentive is a project that provides incentives to both companies and youth to encourage long-term employment of young people working in small and medium-sized enterprises and to help them settle in the local community.
In particular, this year, the project target has been expanded to the largest scale since its inception. Jangseong-gun selected and supported 17 youths from 10 companies in the first half of the year, and plans to secure additional budget at the beginning of the second half to support a total of 13 more youths.
The eligible companies are small and medium-sized enterprises in the Jangseong area with 5 to fewer than 300 employees, which newly hire youth as regular employees or have youth employees currently in long-term employment.
Non-profit corporations and organizations with 5 or more regular employees that meet the priority support company requirements under the Employment Insurance Act can also participate in the project.
Youth eligible for support are those aged 18 to 39 currently residing in Jeonnam and employed by local small and medium-sized enterprises; university students are excluded from eligibility.
Yoo Dooseok, the mayor of Jangseong-gun, said, “We have secured additional budget and greatly expanded the support scale to help small and medium-sized enterprises and young employees who are struggling due to COVID-19,” and added, “We hope for active participation from small and medium-sized enterprises and youth who qualify for the project.”
