IT specialist company Jacob System Co., Ltd. recently announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to supply a 'Virtual Reality (XR) Taser Gun Training Simulator' to the Department of Security Sports at Dong Seoul University. Through this collaboration, the training model applying virtual reality has expanded into the security field.

Since 2017, Jacob System Co., Ltd. has been supplying virtual reality (XR) taser gun training simulators to various regional police agencies, the Central Police Academy, and the Human Resources Development Institute.

Jacob System Co., Ltd. continuously cooperates with the National Police Agency to enhance the functions and content of the taser gun training simulator, focusing on strengthening its role as an educational tool. It is especially used as an auxiliary device for taser gun shooting training, which faces difficulties in live-fire exercises.

Actual taser guns incur significant cartridge costs per shot, making continuous training challenging until now.

The virtual reality taser gun shooting training simulator developed by Jacob System Co., Ltd. not only reduces costs but also enables training for various situational responses. An official stated, “We expect that the spread of the virtual reality taser gun shooting training system will improve police officers' response capabilities.”

This virtual reality (XR) taser gun simulator can be used in various fields. By signing the MOU with Dong Seoul University, Jacob System Co., Ltd. has applied it to formal practical education courses in the Department of Security Sports, thereby expanding its scope to the security field.

Jung Ja-hyun, CEO of Jacob System Co., Ltd., said, “We plan to continuously research virtual reality training systems that can protect the lives of police officers and citizens from increasingly intelligent crimes,” adding, “We will develop it into a training system that can help prevent criminal incidents.”

The virtual reality (XR) taser gun training simulator is currently installed and operating as a test bed at the Creative Makerspace of Dong Seoul University.
