Comprehensive and On-site Inspections of Door-to-Door Sales Businesses
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jaehee] Gunsan City, Jeonbuk, has implemented diverse and prompt responses to prevent the spread of COVID-19 cases, carrying out citizen-centered administration.
On the 15th, the city announced that following the occurrence of the 9th and 10th confirmed cases in Gunsan the previous day, it is making every effort to prevent widespread transmission by tracking movements and conducting disinfection.
The city has reinforced personnel at the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, supplied masks to vulnerable groups, and enabled confirmed patients’ routes, visitors, and their families to visit health centers for COVID-19 testing.
Additionally, a full inspection and on-site checks of door-to-door sales businesses were conducted, completing inspections of 59 locations within the jurisdiction. For the 46 currently operating locations, electronic entry logs were installed and guidance on compliance with quarantine rules was provided. Cooperation letters regarding adherence to daily life rules will be sent to 11 registered cosmetic and beauty product businesses.
Furthermore, companies were requested to conduct self-quarantine checks such as temperature screening upon arrival at work and to appoint quarantine managers. Disinfection equipment was lent to companies within industrial complexes to emphasize self-quarantine.
The city suspended operations of six multi-use facilities for children and adolescents until the situation is resolved, and requested daycare centers, local children’s centers, and community care centers to reduce attendance and refrain from sending children (emergency childcare is being provided).
Also, youth facility programs are being conducted mainly online, and until the situation calms down, education at the Women’s Social University and Women’s Workforce Development Center has been suspended. Community childcare sharing centers are operating remotely online.
The city established an on-site response team at frequently visited tourist spots such as Seonyudo Beach to conduct daily inspections of quarantine status and actively promote social distancing in daily life.
In addition, comprehensive civil complaint consultations will be temporarily suspended until the COVID-19 situation improves. During the suspension period, citizens requesting consultations will be guided to visit cooperating institutions for in-person consultations to alleviate inconvenience.
A city official stated, “We are doing our best to ensure citizens can live without fear amid the spread of COVID-19,” and added, “We hope citizens will wear masks, practice social distancing in daily life, and maintain thorough personal hygiene.”
