Publication of the Booklet "Life with Gijang Seaweed"
Easily Introducing Seaweed Characteristics and Healthy Recipes
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Busan Gijang-gun Seaweed Breeding Convergence Research Center has published a booklet titled "Life with Gijang Seaweed" to promote the value and excellence of seaweed distributed in the Gijang sea area.
About 300 species of seaweed grow densely in the Gijang sea. It is also nationally known for seaweed farming such as "Gijang Miyeok" (sea mustard), dashima (kelp), and soemiyeok (brown seaweed).
The booklet is designed to help readers easily understand the main characteristics of seaweed without requiring specialized knowledge. In addition to information on the growth range and morphology of seaweed distributed in the Gijang sea area, it includes recipes for healthy foods using seaweed with photos, enabling anyone to easily prepare the dishes.
A representative of the research center said, "With many people becoming more interested in health due to COVID-19 and seaweed containing various nutrients being called a superfood, we published this booklet. We hope it will be helpful to many people interested in seaweed."
