[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] South Korea shared its novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) response strategies with Colombia.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 15th that they attended the Korea-Colombia forum held via video conference.
This event was organized at the suggestion of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) president to share South Korea's COVID-19 response experiences across economic, quarantine, and private sectors with Colombia.
At the event attended by Colombian President Ivan Duque, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Hong Nam-ki explained the core strategies of South Korea's effective quarantine response. He also mentioned the Korean New Deal, emphasizing policy directions to turn the COVID-19 crisis into new growth momentum. Following this, Ryu Geun-hyeok, Director of Population Policy at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, introduced South Korea's three major principles of public health response: openness, transparency, and creative innovation.
Meanwhile, the South Korean government plans to share various materials related to COVID-19 response with the Colombian side.
