Starting today, Pohang City will directly visit the relevant businesses in a public-private joint effort with consumer food hygiene inspectors to receive applications and conduct on-site inspections. The '3 Major Practice Tasks' required for Safe Restaurant designation are ▲serving food in smaller portions ▲hygienic management of spoons and chopsticks ▲employees wearing masks.
For businesses designated by the end of July, the city plans to support them by promoting through SNS and prioritizing their use at various events, while actively encouraging government offices and companies in the area to use Safe Restaurants. Pohang City intends to designate 2,000 out of approximately 7,500 restaurants in the area as 'Safe Restaurants' through inspections.
A Pohang City official emphasized, "The dining culture trends of citizens have greatly changed due to COVID-19," adding, "We will strive to make Pohang a leading city in food culture by improving hygienic environments for the establishment of an advanced dining culture together with consumer food hygiene inspectors."
