[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Min Jun-young] Broadcaster Kim Won-hee confessed that she has been taking care of her younger brother who has been battling illness for over 30 years.

On the 14th, the first episode of MBN's variety program 'Everyone's Lecture, Listen to the Value' aired, featuring Professor Kim Kyung-il from the Department of Psychology at Ajou University, who gave a lecture on the theme 'The World of Couples - Ways of Communication.'

During the broadcast, host Kim Won-hee, while listening to the story of a man raising a daughter with developmental disabilities alone, said, "I deeply empathize with the difficulties of the audience. I also have a younger brother who has been battling illness for over 30 years."

She said, "From the perspective of siblings, I used to want to hide my brother in the past. My younger brother suffered a brain injury due to a traffic accident when he was young," adding, "Our family has four daughters and one son. We held a celebration when my younger brother was born. Especially, he was very close to me."

She continued, "Since my brother injured his brain, complications arose, prolonging his illness, and as our parents grew older, they found it increasingly difficult to take care of him."

She added, "We have a large family. In place of our parents, the siblings each took on roles to care for my brother, and my role was to assist with bathing," saying, "It is really hard for an older sister to bathe a grown brother. My younger brother wears diapers, and I wash his entire body."

Kim Won-hee said, "There must have been a reason I carried my brother on my back when I was young," and added, "I felt, 'I can help like this.' I used to want to hide him when I was young, but now I say he is my brother."

Finally, she encouraged the man raising a daughter with developmental disabilities alone, saying, "Once the children grow up a little, they won’t stay still. Watching their father, they will understand that our love is needed and will help. Always keep this in mind, and for now, the father must stay strong."

In response, the man said to his daughter, "I don’t know when you will understand your father’s words, but I love you more than anyone else. Although your intelligence is currently at the level of a two-year-old, I believe it can improve," adding, "I hope you will understand these words someday."
