[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Amazon has introduced a 'smart shopping cart' that requires no checkout.
According to foreign media, on the 14th (local time), Amazon unveiled the 'Amazon Dash Cart,' which automatically detects and calculates the items shoppers place in the cart.
This cart recognizes the products customers put in using built-in cameras, sensors, and scales.
Most smart carts require scanning items before placing them in the cart. In contrast, the Amazon Dash Cart automatically detects products whenever items are added or removed from the cart without this process.
The Amazon Dash Cart is scheduled to be first introduced at a new supermarket opening later this year in Los Angeles (LA), California.
