Payment of 100,000 KRW Each to 508 People by the End of This Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Namwon City, Jeonbuk, has decided to provide the ‘Dundun Allowance’ within this month to improve the treatment of workers at social welfare facilities in the area.
According to the city on the 14th, a survey conducted last year to improve the treatment of social welfare facility workers revealed that the highest demands were for better welfare benefits and resolving wage disparities between facilities.
Accordingly, the city established the ‘Dundun Allowance’ to improve the treatment of social workers and will provide a total of 50.8 million KRW, 100,000 KRW per worker, within this month.
The payment targets are workers employed at social welfare facilities in the area who work more than 40 hours per week, have worked for more than six months, and have resided in Namwon City for over six months.
This aims to reduce turnover rates among workers, encourage settlement in Namwon City, and thereby ensure stable facility operation and improve the quality of welfare services.
The city received 508 Dundun Allowance applications from 65 social welfare facilities in the area and plans to make payments by the end of this month for each facility.
Jo Hwanik, Director of the Resident Welfare Division, said, “We hope the Dundun Allowance will be of some help to social welfare facility workers.”
