Wonkang University-Habuk Geological Group Joint 4th Year Graduation Exhibition

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Geon-ju] It was announced on the 14th that the opening ceremony of the senior graduation exhibition of the joint department jointly operated by Wonkwang University and Hebei GEO University in China was held the day before at the LINC Exhibition Hall on the 1st floor of the Soongsan Memorial Hall at Wonkwang University.

The two schools established the 3+1 Environmental Design joint department in March 2016 and have recruited a total of 215 students to date. In September last year, 11 joint department students transferred and enrolled as seniors in the Department of Spatial Environment and Industrial Design at Wonkwang University.

The opening ceremony of this exhibition was held by inviting about 40 people, including university operation committee members and students staying on campus, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and the exhibition will continue until the 15th.

President Park Maeng-su said, “Since the establishment of the joint department, I am grateful to the International Exchange Office and related personnel of both schools who have spared no support in both material and spiritual aspects,” and “I sincerely congratulate the first batch of students on their graduation exhibition.”

He added, “We wanted to hold a grand graduation exhibition at an external exhibition hall, but due to the COVID-19 situation, the event scale was reduced and held in a simplified manner,” expressing regret and asking for understanding.

Joo Heung-young, former Party Secretary of the Huaxin Institute at Hebei GEO University and currently a doctoral student at Wonkwang University Graduate School, said at the event, “It is an honor to appreciate the graduation works of the joint department students and to witness the fruits of cooperation between the two schools firsthand,” and “I hope the exchange and cooperation between the two schools will continue to deepen and expand in the future.”
