[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] One new case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Daejeon.
According to Daejeon City on the 14th, as of 2 p.m. that day, a man in his 60s living in Bongmyeong-dong, Yuseong-gu (#161) was confirmed positive for COVID-19.
#161 was tested at the screening clinic of Konyang University Hospital the day before and received the final positive diagnosis the following day.
It was investigated that this patient showed symptoms such as cough and sore throat starting on the 4th.
The city is currently conducting an epidemiological investigation to track the movement paths of #161.
In addition, diagnostic tests are being conducted on two family members and three employees who had close contact with the confirmed patient, and they have been placed under self-quarantine.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed that #161 worked as a laborer at a construction site where #142, another confirmed case, works as a site manager.
The city estimates that although the two confirmed cases did not have direct contact, there was likely indirect contact inside a container.
Previously, at the site where #142 works, a cargo transport company employee (#157) and a colleague (#159) who had a conversation without wearing masks for about 10 minutes with #142 were subsequently confirmed positive for COVID-19. Starting from #142, four people related to the construction site have been infected with COVID-19.
