[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] A U.S. court has lifted the temporary injunction against the publication of a book written by Donald Trump's niece. By canceling the order a day before the scheduled release, Trump's niece is now able to proceed with the book's publication and promotional activities as planned.

According to the Associated Press on the 13th (local time), Judge John Hal B. Greenwald of the New York State Supreme Court canceled the temporary injunction against the book's publication on that day.

On the 30th of last month, Robert Trump, President Trump's brother, filed a preliminary injunction with the court, claiming that Mary violated a confidentiality agreement. Judge Greenwald initially ordered a temporary halt to the book's publication until it could be determined whether Mary and the publisher Simon & Schuster had breached the confidentiality agreement.

However, on the day before the scheduled release, the judge reversed this order.

In his ruling, Judge Greenwald explained the background by stating, "Considering the 2001 agreement in the context of the current situation surrounding the Trump family, it infringes on freedom of expression and is against the public interest."

He also added, "A significant number of copies have already been distributed, and the book's contents have been exposed through the media, so at this point, the temporary injunction would not be very helpful."

The judge also mentioned that Robert, who filed the preliminary injunction, would not suffer damages from the book's publication.

The New York Appellate Division had previously lifted the temporary injunction after the publisher appealed the initial court's decision.

Mary, the daughter of Donald Trump’s late brother Donald Trump Jr. and a clinical psychologist, has authored a book titled "Too Much and Never Satisfied," which includes stories about President Trump and the family, and is set to be published on the 14th.

The book contains explosive claims, including that President Trump meets all nine clinical criteria for narcissistic personality disorder, that he had a friend take an exam on his behalf to transfer to the prestigious Ivy League Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1966, and that he went to the movies on the day his older brother died.

Mary's attorney welcomed the ruling, saying, "The court has corrected the Trump family's attempt to suppress Mary's core and political expression on an issue of significant public interest."

The publisher also issued a statement, saying, "We applaud the court. This book is a work of great significance closely related to national discourse, and we eagerly look forward to publishing a book that the public wants to read."

The book had already reached number one on Amazon's bestseller list even before its release.
