Jongno-gu Conducts Online Education Program to Strengthen Parents' Mental Resilience

From July 15 to August 5, every Wednesday at 8 PM, lectures are available through the Jongno Innovation Education District Parent Division Education Band... Lectures conducted by Kim Moon-sil, Professional Psychological Counselor at RYM Counseling Research Institute

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jongno-gu (Mayor Kim Young-jong) empathizes with the deepening concerns of parents due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and is conducting an online education program called ‘Building Parental Mental Strength’ to help parents take care of their own minds first in order to raise their children properly in the changed daily life.

It is often seen that parents blame themselves for being clumsy and insufficient in raising their children, who are future human resources. The district office and the Jongno Innovation Education District Parent Committee have prepared this education program to observe such parental psychology, support the building of inner strength, and help parents grow together with their children.

The ‘Building Parental Mental Strength Education’ is themed ‘Online Psychological Class for Sensitivity Recovery’ and will be held every Wednesday at 8 p.m. from July 15 to August 5. The lectures will be conducted by Kim Moon-sil, a professional psychological counselor from RYM Counseling Institute.

The education consists of four sessions: ▲Session 1 (July 15) Are depression in adolescents and adults different? ▲Session 2 (July 22) My emotions amid family stress ▲Session 3 (July 29) Understanding my mind through case studies ▲Session 4 (August 5) Comprehending my mind through case studies.

Anyone can attend the education by joining the ‘Jongno Innovation Education District Parent Committee Education Band,’ and participants can freely enter at the lecture time to listen and consult about their concerns through the chat window.
