[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 14th that it has carried out improvement work on the Namjeonggyo roundabout, which has been installed and operated since 2017 to provide a safe traffic environment, due to frequent accidents such as collisions with sidewalks when large vehicles turn.

The Namjeonggyo roundabout is designed to allow large vehicles such as semi-trailers to turn without difficulty, but to prevent frequent accidents caused by some drivers' inexperience and speeding, a raised crosswalk was installed to induce vehicle speed reduction.

In addition, the width of the roundabout in some sections was expanded and safety zones were installed, focusing on creating a safe roundabout.

Residents said, "We were always anxious when passing due to speeding vehicles from the Namjeonggyo direction, but we are grateful that this improvement project seems to have alleviated our anxiety."

The head of the county construction department said, "Since this is a road used by the residents, we will do our best to create a road that everyone can use safely and comfortably."
