[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Geon-ju] As door-to-door sales crossing regions are becoming a cause of regional infection spread, two confirmed cases have occurred in Gunsan, Jeonbuk.
They are women in their 50s and 60s living in Gunsan and Seocheon, Chungnam, respectively. After coming into contact with a confirmed case from Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do, related to door-to-door sales in Gunsan on the 8th, they tested positive on the 13th and were admitted to Gunsan Medical Center.
With this, the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Jeonbuk has increased to 38, becoming the 37th and 38th cases in Jeonbuk.
Jeonbuk health authorities and Gunsan City have identified that these individuals are related to a door-to-door sales company and have requested that anyone who visited places where the confirmed cases had been from the 8th to the 13th report to the health authorities.
Meanwhile, cases confirmed through visits or contact with door-to-door sales venues are increasing, making the spread of infection originating from door-to-door sales a serious issue. The 22nd confirmed female high school student case in Jeonbuk, infected at a restaurant visited by Daejeon confirmed cases number 50 and 55 who had been to Jeonju, was infected after staying next to a Daejeon confirmed case for only about five minutes.
