[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] The first confirmed case of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has been reported in Yeongdong, Chungbuk, raising concerns among quarantine authorities as the infection route remains unknown.

According to Chungbuk Province on the 13th, a woman in her 60s, Ms. A, residing in Yangsan-myeon, Yeongdong-gun, was confirmed positive for COVID-19 around 10 a.m. that day.

The authorities are focusing on the fact that Ms. A neither had a risk of COVID-19 infection nor visited any outbreak areas. For this reason, some voices are expressing concern about the spread of community infection.
