Growth in Consumption in the Asia-Pacific Region... Launch of a Fund Investing in 'Beneficiary Companies'


[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] A fund investing in companies expected to benefit from consumer growth in the Asia-Pacific region has been launched.


KB Asset Management announced on the 14th that it has launched the 'KB Asia Consumer Growth Leaders Fund.'


This fund invests in stocks benefiting from consumer growth in the Asia-Pacific region, excluding Japan. The Asia-Pacific economy is rapidly growing with increasing income and consumption. In particular, China and India have high economic growth rates. According to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), by 2050, the middle-class consumption share in the Asia-Pacific region is expected to account for more than 50% of the global total.


The fund invests not only in agricultural products and food and beverages but also in a wide range of sectors such as IT, healthcare, and real estate, as well as global blue-chip companies with a high sales proportion in the Asia-Pacific region. Sector allocation includes consumer discretionary at 37.9%, consumer staples at 16.9%, financials at 13.2%, and IT at 11.8%.


Park In-ho, Executive Director of the Retail Division at KB Asset Management, said, "The Asia-Pacific region is home to more than half of the world's population, and with rapidly increasing incomes, significant changes in the consumption environment are expected. Based on our successful experience managing China funds and various external research networks, we plan to identify and invest in top-tier companies with high growth potential."


Available for purchase through KB Securities since the day before, this fund does not implement a currency hedging strategy for foreign currency assets. Investors can choose from A class (1.0% front-end load, 1.625% annual fee), A-E class (0.5% front-end load, 1.275% annual fee, online exclusive), C class (no front-end load, 2.225% annual fee), and C-E class (no front-end load, 1.425% annual fee, online exclusive).
