[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Hanwha Defense announced on the 14th that it has become the first domestic company to achieve 'Level 8' in the Productivity Management System (PMS) certification audit, which applied the latest standards.
The PMS certification is a corporate management system capability diagnosis program hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Productivity Center, implemented to support task execution and innovation activities for productivity improvement. Since the system was first introduced in 2013, Hanwha Defense is the first company to receive Level 8.
In this audit, Hanwha Defense received Level 8 in six out of seven evaluation categories: ▲Leadership ▲Innovation ▲Customer ▲Measurement, Analysis and Knowledge Management ▲Human Resources ▲Process, achieving the highest PMS score ever of 722.6 points.
Hanwha Defense explained that after completing its merger in January last year, it was able to receive favorable evaluations from the audit team by focusing on establishing growth strategies to maximize synergy, innovating work processes, strengthening customer management linked to performance creation, and building a smart work environment. Hanwha Defense merged with Hanwha Ground Defense, a defense affiliate of Hanwha Group, in January last year.
Additionally, its practical implementation programs for co-growth with partner companies and productivity enhancement were highly evaluated.
Hanwha Defense plans to expand its position as a developer of advanced unmanned systems and defense robots that align with the 'untact (non-face-to-face)' era brought about by the advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution unmanned era and the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Lee Sung-soo, CEO of Hanwha Defense, said, “The results of chemical integration such as process and standard integration in a short period after the merger have been proven by Level 8,” adding, “We will strive to ensure that what we have experienced and promoted can be desirably disseminated to partner companies and affiliates.”
