Self-Diagnosis App Self-Development and Introduction of Main Gate Drive-Thru, etc.
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju University (President Kim Hyukjong) is attracting attention for its preventive activities being carried out to block the spread of COVID-19 on campus.
According to Gwangju University on the 13th, they are responding swiftly by reorganizing the campus quarantine system to establish a proactive response system against the resurgence of COVID-19.
Gwangju University has prepared strengthened COVID-19 response measures including ▲installation of fever screening stations and temporary waiting rooms at all entrances ▲introduction of a drive-thru system at the main gate ▲mandatory creation of visitor logs and sticker attachment for all entrants ▲installation of self-diagnosis apps for faculty and students ▲daily disinfection and quarantine.
First, fever screening stations and temporary waiting rooms have been installed at all campus entrances such as the main and back gates, where visitor logs are created and stickers are attached to allow entry.
Those entering by vehicle must go through the drive-thru system.
In addition, Gwangju University is the first university in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions to develop and operate its own ‘COVID-19 Self-Diagnosis App.’
The self-diagnosis app is distributed to students and faculty to conduct self-diagnosis before coming to campus, and the results will be monitored in real time.
In particular, a COVID-19 Emergency Response Team directly under the president has been formed, with all staff taking the lead to conduct daily disinfection and quarantine targeting classrooms, restrooms, hallways, etc., carrying out close management to block infections on campus.
To ensure student safety, the dormitories have installed air showers (personal disinfection devices) for the first time nationwide among universities. A three-stage quarantine system using thermal imaging cameras for fever detection, hand sanitization, and mandatory mask-wearing is being operated in dormitories, libraries, and other facilities.
Yoon Hongsang, head of Gwangju University’s COVID-19 Emergency Response Team, said, “We hold frequent meetings on campus to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation and prepare countermeasures,” adding, “We will do our best in COVID-19 prevention activities through prompt and appropriate measures.”
