Jeonnam Health and Environment Research Institute Offers Free Water Quality Testing for Drinking Water and Groundwater

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Health and Environment Research Institute announced on the 13th that it will conduct free water quality tests on 76 social welfare facilities without tap water supply, including elderly, children, and disabled facilities in the province, until the end of this month.

This free water quality test targets groundwater and water passing through water purifiers used as drinking water in each facility.

The test items include 46 items such as nitrate nitrogen for groundwater, and 2 items such as turbidity and total coliform bacteria for water passing through water purifiers.

When the person in charge of the relevant city or county requests the Jeonnam Health and Environment Research Institute, the institute will visit the facility directly to collect water and begin testing and analysis.

The results will be notified to the person in charge of the relevant city or county and the facility manager.

If the test results do not meet the drinking water quality standards, the cause will be identified and detailed improvement measures will be provided to ensure no disruption in water quality management.

Park Gwinim, head of the Water Quality Analysis Division, said, “We will continue to promote this to improve water welfare for socially vulnerable groups and expand a culture of sharing warmth.”

Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Health and Environment Research Institute inspected 66 facilities last year and notified 19 of them as non-compliant with drinking water quality standards and provided guidance.
