[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] A sports therapist named An Ju-hyun (45), known as the 'team doctor' within the Gyeongju City Hall triathlon team, was arrested by the police on the 13th.

The Daegu District Court's warrant review panel conducted a pre-arrest suspect interrogation (warrant substantive examination) for An on the same day and issued the warrant, stating there was a "risk of evidence destruction and flight."

The Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency, after the abusive behavior incident within the Gyeongju City Hall triathlon team became known, arrested An, who had gone into hiding, in Daegu on the 10th and applied for an arrest warrant on charges including violation of the Special Act on the Control of Health Crimes.

An, identified as one of the perpetrators of abuse against the late athlete Choi Sook-hyun, is suspected of performing medical treatments on athletes without a medical license or physical therapist certification and receiving money under the pretext of treatment fees.

He is also accused of abusive acts such as hitting and verbally abusing athletes. Additionally, he faces allegations of sexually harassing the athletes.

Earlier, in March, when Choi filed a complaint alleging abuse by coach Kim Gyu-bong, An, and two senior athletes, An was found to have assaulted Choi and was sent to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment at the end of May.
