[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Ki-dong] Mokpo City Council member Kim Yang-gyu (Samhyang-dong, Okam-dong, Sang-dong) announced on the 13th that he has taken the lead in proposing a partial amendment ordinance to expand support for shared electricity charges for vulnerable groups living in permanent rental apartments, as well as a complete revision ordinance to inspect the execution and settlement of Mokpo City's budget, which is the council's primary function.
First, the partial amendment ordinance to support shared electricity charges within Mokpo City's permanent rental apartment complexes focuses on expanding the scope of shared electricity charges and includes incidental expenses related to the use of shared elevators.
Additionally, the complete revision ordinance concerning the appointment and operation of Mokpo City settlement inspection committee members aims to overhaul the main contents of the ordinance by specifying ambiguous expressions and updating provisions that no longer fit the current situation after a long period since the ordinance was enacted.
Council member Kim Yang-gyu said, "I expect that this ordinance amendment will provide some help to socially vulnerable groups who may become more marginalized during difficult times," and added, "I proposed the amendment ordinance to more thoroughly inspect the execution and settlement of the city budget, which is the core function of the city council."
Meanwhile, these ordinances are scheduled to be finally approved at the plenary session on the 23rd after review by the standing committee during the 360th extraordinary session.
Kim Yang-gyu, who hails from Samhyang-dong, Okam-dong, and Sang-dong, is serving as the vice-chairman of the Mokpo City Council's Council Operations Committee and as a member of the Tourism and Economy Committee in the second half of the term.
