[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan Gijang-gun will recruit 737 participants for the ‘Gijang-type Hope Job Project’ to overcome COVID-19 from the 15th to the 24th.

This project was prepared to provide large-scale public jobs to help residents' lives and the local economy recover, as the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic has caused economic stagnation and expanded employment market crises in the region.

The number of recruits by field is 232 for daily quarantine support, 109 for emergency public work support, 65 for park and green space management, 279 for environmental improvement (maintenance), and 52 for youth jobs (administrative assistance).

Selected participants will be assigned to each business department of Gijang-gun (including eup and myeon) to perform public duties, working 4 to 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, for up to 5 months. Applicants must be unemployed Gijang-gun residents aged 18 or older with the ability to work as of the announcement date.

Those wishing to participate should visit the administrative welfare center of their eup or myeon within the deadline to apply. For the youth job (administrative assistance, under 34 years old) field, applications can be submitted at the Job Comprehensive Center on the 1st floor of Gijang-gun Office.

To prevent COVID-19 infection and reduce congestion during application, it is recommended to visit according to the 5-day rotation system based on birth year.

A county official said, “This Hope Job Project will be a measure to support the livelihood stability of residents facing difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation by directly supporting economic activities and revitalizing the local economy.
