Ulju Seonbawi Library Hosts Unique Photo Exhibition Featuring 'Keyboard'

‘behind keyboard’ Kim Sewon Solo Exhibition... Expressing the Invisible Space Behind the Keyboard (裏面)

Ulju Seonbawi Library Hosts Unique Photo Exhibition Featuring 'Keyboard' A work by Professor Kim Sewon featuring a keyboard as the material.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Ulsan Ulju Seonbawi Library is currently exhibiting photographic works by Professor Kim Sewon, who used zooming and panning photography techniques focusing on the keyboard, one of the computer input devices.

Professor Kim Sewon graduated from Hongik University and completed his master's degree at Long Island University in New York, USA. He is currently a professor in the Department of Textile Design at the College of Fine Arts, University of Ulsan, and this exhibition marks his thirty-third solo exhibition.

The photography work began in 2007 as part of the '2007 Eurasian Expedition' planned by ubc Ulsan Broadcasting, during which he explored the ancient Silk Road. Since the first photo exhibition of Namsan in Gyeongju in 2010, he has held several solo exhibitions related to Namsan.

This work was experimentally conducted during the process of understanding the camera's mechanism, aiming to break away from traditional photography and express 'print-like photographs.'

Professor Kim said, "I wanted to shed new light on the positive and negative functions of social network services (SNS) through the keyboard."

Even familiar objects become experimental works that open new horizons of art from the artist's perspective. By approaching commonly seen objects around us in a different way, he attempted not only to depict the form of objects but also to explore their spiritual aspects. This exhibition features 15 pieces.

A library official said, "This exhibition consists of works that reinterpret the meaning of objects, and we hope it becomes a thought-provoking photo exhibition."
