[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] At the Korean New Deal National Report Conference held by the Blue House on the 14th, Chung Eui-sun, Vice Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, and Han Seong-sook, CEO of Naver, will deliver corporate opinions through live on-site connections. The event will also be attended by the heads of the five major economic organizations and the chairman of the Korean Federation of Trade Unions, representing labor and management.


Yoon Jae-kwan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Blue House, stated at a briefing at the Press Center on the 13th, "The Korean New Deal is a national power mobilization project," adding, "It is a project to combine the government's catalytic role and the leading role of companies, gather the energy of the people, overcome the COVID-19 economic crisis early, create a large number of jobs, and ultimately achieve a great transformation of Korea into a leading country."

Deputy Spokesperson Yoon emphasized, "This is not a state-led project. It is not a government-only project either. In this spirit, the Korean New Deal National Report Conference brings together labor, management, civil society, political parties, and the government in one place."


From the economic sector, the heads of the five major economic organizations including the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Korea International Trade Association, Korea Employers Federation, Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business, and Korea Federation of Medium-sized Enterprises will attend, along with the chairman of the Korean Federation of Trade Unions. They will participate as discussants representing labor and management to convey the voices of industry and labor.


Deputy Spokesperson Yoon stated, "The representatives of the Digital New Deal and Green New Deal leading companies, Han Seong-sook of Naver and Chung Eui-sun of Hyundai Motor, will be connected live to deliver vivid corporate opinions at the report conference."

Additionally, the event will include participation from the ruling party, government, and the Blue House. The Democratic Party's K-New Deal Committee, the government's Economic Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, and all related directors, senior secretaries, and aides from the Blue House are expected to attend. Furthermore, industry, academia, public-private experts, heads of government-funded research institutes, and frontline public officials related to the Digital New Deal, Green New Deal, and safety net reinforcement will also participate.


Deputy Spokesperson Yoon said, "The Moon Jae-in administration will surely succeed in the Korean New Deal by consolidating national power through cooperation among labor, management, civil society, political parties, and the government, and through the voluntary participation of the people, building on the national confidence gained from overcoming crises such as gathering gold for quarantine efforts and even overcoming Japan's export restrictions," adding, "Together with the people, we will continue Korea's proud history of 'We tried it, and it worked.'"
