[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Korea Union Pharmaceutical announced on the 13th that it has released the final report on the project "Production of Biocompatible Gelatin from Donpi and Development of Plasma Expander Injectable Formulation Using It," which was promoted as part of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' Bio-industry Technology Development Project on the 10th.
Korea Union Pharmaceutical, having successfully completed the Bio-industry Technology Development Project, plans to accelerate the registration of domestic raw pharmaceutical ingredients and approval of finished products by developing raw materials for plasma expanders using its proprietary technology.
In accordance with the enforcement of the Nagoya Protocol, the project aims to increase the added value of domestic agricultural and livestock products by utilizing domestic Donpi and thereby stimulate the domestic market economy.
The company plans to mass-produce a high-quality product through safety and efficacy evaluations as a solution to the issues of currently marketed plasma expanders.
