Cho Yong-byeong "Eco-friendly, Win-win, Trust Responsible Management"... Publication of '2019 Social Responsibility Report'

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] Shinhan Financial Group published the "2019 Shinhan Financial Group Social Responsibility Report" on the 13th, detailing Shinhan Financial's social responsibility management activities and achievements.

Published for the 15th time this year, the social responsibility report was created with the purpose of enhancing the medium- to long-term value for stakeholders under three main directions: responsible growth, formation of social partnerships, and investment toward the future.

In particular, this report focuses on Korea's first initiatives such as ▲Climate Change Response Principles ▲Development of Social Value Measurement Models ▲Establishment of Sustainable Management Governance Systems, demonstrating Shinhan Financial's differentiated strategies.

Additionally, the core content was categorized into three themes?Environment (E), Social (S), and Governance (G)?which are key elements of social responsibility management, and an "ESG Table" was created. Accordingly, the group's social responsibility management activities were organized by each category to facilitate understanding.

Furthermore, the report disclosed the group's response measures related to the recently emphasized COVID-19, as well as TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) and SASB (Sustainability Accounting Standards Board).

Cho Yong-byeong, Chairman of Shinhan Financial Group, stated, "We will promote the group's social responsibility management in three directions: 'Eco-friendly,' 'Coexistence,' and 'Trust,'" adding, "Through a differentiated approach to social responsibility management, we will become a 'First-class Shinhan' that leads and supports positive changes for customers and society."
