Dogong Geoncheon Gas Station (Seoul Direction), Zero Payment Errors with 'IC Chip Lock Function'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] On the 13th, Korea Expressway Corporation announced that the Geoncheon Gas Station on the Seoul-bound Gyeongbu Expressway has switched its credit card payment method to the IC chip system.

In particular, to prevent frequent payment errors caused by customers removing their credit cards during refueling, the Geoncheon Gas Station installed a locking (lockLOCK) function on the IC card slot.

A gas station official stated, "Considering social concerns about illegal duplication of magnetic cards, we introduced a stable and more secure IC chip payment method," adding, "Through the IC chip lock function, we have reduced payment errors, shortened customers' payment time, and minimized inconveniences such as re-payment, receiving great positive feedback."
