Korea Exchange Joins 1 Company 1 Village Rural Labor Support in Narutbae Village, Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province

[Asia Economy Reporter Song Hwajeong] Korea Exchange announced on the 13th that it visited Narutbae Village in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province, a rural partnership village under the One Company-One Village program, on the 10th and carried out volunteer activities to help with tomato harvesting and other farm work.

In response to the busy farming season and labor shortages, the Exchange visited the partnered rural village to provide manpower support such as tomato harvesting. It also purchased 105 bags of rice (20kg each) produced in the village to donate to marginalized groups in need, including single-parent families.

The Exchange began its One Company-One Village partnership with Narutbae Village in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province, in November 2008. Since then, its executives and employees have regularly conducted rural volunteer work every year. They have also supported resident convenience facilities such as donating blood pressure monitors to the village hall and installing CCTVs, as well as promoting rural exchange by purchasing local specialty products.

Jung Ji-won, Chairman of the Korea Exchange, said, "Maintaining a good cooperative relationship with the village for 12 years is a good example of urban-rural coexistence. We will continue to make greater efforts so that cities and rural areas can mutually prosper and support each other."
