Seoul City Councilor Lee Eun-ju, Traffic Safety Improvement at Yuksasamgeori and Activation of Railroad Park Usage

Completion of Yuksasamgeori Road Traffic Flow Improvement Project, Installation of LED Pedestrian Crosswalk Floor Signals Planned... Expectation for Activation of Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail Hwarangdae Railroad Park Use and Securing Pedestrian Safety

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seoul Metropolitan Council Transportation Committee member Eunju Lee (Democratic Party, Nowon 2) announced, "The installation of traffic safety facilities such as a new crosswalk at Hwarang-ro Yuksasamgeori intersection, traffic signal and speed enforcement cameras has been completed. Additionally, by installing LED floor signals at the crosswalk, traffic safety will be ensured and the use of Hwarangdae Railroad Park will be revitalized."

Until now, the Yuksasamgeori intersection had a high risk of traffic accidents due to an unreasonable traffic system, causing continuous inconvenience to residents.

Council member Eunju Lee led the budget allocation for the Seoul city road traffic improvement project and ensured that the project funds were supported to Nowon-gu, completing the intersection structure improvement and pedestrian route system improvement construction on July 3.

Council member Eunju Lee stated that through this road traffic improvement project, a crosswalk was installed in the direction of Hwarangdae Railroad Park from the previously disconnected Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail, improving local residents' accessibility to the railroad park and enhancing the pedestrian environment, which is expected to activate the use of the "Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail Hwarangdae Railroad Park."

Also, Council member Eunju Lee mentioned that the intersection from Yuksa to Hwarangdae intersection, which previously had no vehicle signals and was at high risk of frequent traffic accidents, can now prevent traffic accidents through the installation of vehicle traffic lights and traffic/speed enforcement cameras, which is very fortunate.

Furthermore, Council member Eunju Lee announced plans to install LED floor signals at the newly established crosswalk at the improved Yuksasamgeori intersection to create a safe road crossing environment for pedestrians.

Council member Eunju Lee said, "Considering the recent surge in people walking while looking at smartphones and especially the many local residents visiting the railroad park at night, it is necessary to install LED floor signals to prevent accidents."

Council member Eunju Lee has been continuously consulting with Seoul City, Nowon Police Station, and Nowon District Office for the installation of LED floor signals and held an on-site residents briefing session on July 9.

Council member Eunju Lee stated, "I will continue to identify unreasonable traffic system improvement points and provide various ideas to improve them so that Nowon-gu can have the safest and most convenient traffic and pedestrian environment among Seoul's 25 autonomous districts."
