[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon strongly criticized female lawmakers of the Democratic Party of Korea who remained silent about the late Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon's sexual harassment allegations on the 12th, calling them "women who sell out women."

On the same day, Professor Jin referred to the statement made by Democratic Party female lawmakers during the Me Too revelation by Prosecutor Seo Ji-hyun in January 2018, saying, "We will stand in solidarity with women's actions and movements that lead to confessions, testimonies, and revelations. All those involved, including active politicians, must be investigated without exception."

Professor Jin questioned, "They said this, but is their current stance that 'there is no need for us to speak out, and the actions and movements of women leading to confessions, testimonies, and revelations are very concerning'?"

Earlier, on the 10th and 11th, female lawmakers of the Democratic Party who visited Mayor Park's funeral home expressed condolences but were reserved about the allegations. Lawmaker Baek Hye-ryun, who visited the funeral home, dismissed questions by saying, "Please do not ask. I do not want to be interviewed."

Jeon Hyun-hee, former Democratic Party lawmaker and Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, said, "I think it is proper to respect the honor of the deceased. I also ask the media to handle this well."

On the 10th, Lawmaker Jung Chun-sook expressed her condolences on Facebook, saying, "We have worked together on various matters since 1992. I cannot say anything. Only tears."

Kim Sang-hee, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly affiliated with the Democratic Party and former Executive Director of the Korean Women's Association United, also posted on Facebook that day, "I commemorate and mourn the life of the late Mayor Park Won-soon, who devoted his entire life to human rights and democracy."
