[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Asiana Airlines announced on the 13th that it will operate special charter flights to Nha Trang, Vietnam, twice by the 15th to transport 70 shipowners and crew members of vessels being built at Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding to the local site in Vietnam.

According to Asiana Airlines, the crew members boarding the charter flights operating twice on the 15th are multinational, including from the UK, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Venezuela, and India. They will transfer at Incheon International Airport and then use Asiana Airlines' charter flights to move to the local site in Vietnam.

Earlier in June, Asiana Airlines also operated a special charter flight to transport 29 engineers from domestic and international equipment suppliers supporting the sea trial and delivery work of Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding's vessels. Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding is a Vietnamese subsidiary of Hyundai Mipo Dockyard.

Asiana Airlines stated, "We are pleased to be able to join domestic shipbuilders' efforts to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic during a time when many companies are struggling due to closed air routes," adding, "We believe that the excellent transfer system of Incheon International Airport, recognized worldwide, greatly contributed to attracting this transfer demand."
