[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Due to the monsoon rain that fell overnight in Daejeon, some underpass roads are being closed.

According to the Daejeon Regional Meteorological Administration on the 13th, Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungnam have experienced rainfall of 10 to 20 mm per hour since the previous day. Some areas recorded rainfall exceeding 100 mm.

As of 4 a.m. on the day, the cumulative rainfall at major points in Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungnam regions was ▲ Yeonghwa (Buyeo) 118.5 mm ▲ Yeonmu (Nonsan) 107.0 mm ▲ Gyeryong 97.5 mm ▲ Daejeon 90.7 mm ▲ Geumsan 88.6 mm ▲ Sejong 81.2 mm ▲ Jeongsan (Cheongyang) 79.5 mm ▲ Woeyeondo (Boryeong) 75.0 mm ▲ Gongju 70.5 mm.

The rain is expected to continue until the morning of the 14th due to the influence of a strong rain cloud band accompanying the stationary front, with total rainfall expected to be around 50 to 100 mm.

In particular, Daejeon, where the cumulative rainfall has exceeded 90 mm, has fully closed the Daejeoncheon underpass road since 6 a.m. The Daejeon city government urged citizens to use detour routes on the underpass road during their commute through emergency disaster messages.
