[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] The hearse carrying the late Mayor Park Won-soon departed from the funeral hall at Seoul National University Hospital, the place of the wake, at around 7:20 a.m. on the 13th.
The mayor's farewell ceremony will be held online from 8:30 a.m. on the same day at the multipurpose hall of Seoul City Hall. The ceremony will be live-streamed through the Seoul City and tbs YouTube channels.
Only about 100 people, including the bereaved family, provincial governors, Democratic Party leadership, Seoul city officials, and representatives of civil society, are expected to attend the ceremony in person.
After the farewell ceremony, the funeral committee will cremate Mayor Park's body at Seoul Memorial Park. Afterwards, the remains will be moved to his hometown, Changnyeong, Gyeongnam, for burial.
