Seoul Jung-gu Holds 2021 Rolling Admission Strategy Briefing Session

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Seoyangho) will hold the "2021 Academic Year Early Admission Strategy Briefing" at the soon-to-open "Jung-gu Education Support Center Iro-um" on the 25th at 2 PM.

The district has prepared this briefing to provide accurate information about the 2021 early admission process and to help high school seniors and their parents, who are experiencing unprecedented confusion due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), establish effective college admission strategies through lectures by admission experts.

The briefing will be conducted by Lee Juhan, a current admission consultant at the Jung-gu College Counseling Center and former admissions officer at Korea University, and Lee Jaewon, a current admissions officer at Dongguk University.

Lee Juhan will deliver a lecture on the 2021 college early admission strategies along with an analysis of the June mock exam and ways to utilize it for early admission. Lee Jaewon will follow with a lecture titled "How to Get Accepted through the Comprehensive Student Record Screening." After the lectures, a separate Q&A session will be held, providing valuable information for high school seniors and their parents regarding college early admission.

Applications are currently being accepted through the Jung-gu Office website or by phone (Jung-gu College Counseling Center), with enrollment limited to the first 30 applicants. The target audience is high school seniors and their parents who are either attending schools in the district or residing in Jung-gu.

Attendees must register on the mobile electronic roster at the entrance to gain entry, wear masks at all times, and maintain a 2-meter distance between participants in accordance with preventive measures.

Additionally, due to COVID-19, the briefing will be held on a small scale, but a live broadcast will be streamed on Jung-gu’s official YouTube channel "Euljiro Jeonpasa," allowing remote viewing of the lectures.

Even after the briefing, one-on-one consultations can be received at the Jung-gu College Counseling Center as needed.

Seoyangho, Mayor of Jung-gu, stated, "We have prepared this event amid the difficulties of COVID-19 so that the efforts of students and parents will not be in vain. Although we cannot host many people in person, we hope that utilizing the YouTube channel will help everyone properly understand the necessary information for college admission strategies and develop thorough plans." He added, "We will continue to explore various methods to ensure that essential daily activities can proceed even during COVID-19."
