Dongdaemun-gu Collects 'Youth Policy Opinions' Through Online Platform

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor You Deok-yeol) has decided to gather opinions using an online platform to hear residents' views on the 2021 Dongdaemun-gu youth policy.

In April, the district was selected as a participating autonomous district in the '2021 Seoul Youth Autonomous Budget System.' Through a deliberation process by the Dongdaemun Youth Policy Network (hereafter 'Dongcheongnet') in May and June, the youth policy governance projects 'Youth Development Center Activation Project' and 'Youth Core Strengthening Planning Group FLANK Operation Project' were selected.

The youth policy governance 'Youth Development Center' activation project enables young people to independently discover and implement policies reflecting regional characteristics, expand youth networks, and establish participatory youth governance.

The 'Youth Core Strengthening Planning Group FLANK Operation Project' is a region-specific project where young people plan and operate volunteer activities, solve various local issues, and strengthen their practical skills through mentoring education with current practitioners.

A district official stated, "We will actively discuss and collect opinions and points for improvement on the two policies and coordinate with Seoul City to reflect them in the policies."

Youth and residents interested in Dongdaemun-gu youth policy can submit their opinions through Seoul City's M-Voting until July 10, and participation is also possible via the Dongdaemun-gu Office and Dongcheongnet websites. The results of the opinion gathering will be disclosed later on the Dongdaemun-gu Office website.
