Gwangjin-gu Selected for 'Green Healing Office Creation Project' Led by Seoul Agricultural Technology Center... Bio Wall with Air-Purifying Plants Installed Inside Civil Service Office... Photo Zone Newly Renovated

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) has transformed the Civil Affairs Passport Office and Civil Affairs Office, which are frequently visited by residents, into healing spaces filled with air-purifying plants.

The district was selected for the "Green Healing Office Creation Pilot Project" organized by the Seoul Agricultural Technology Center, and planted 743 bio wall plants in leftover spaces such as walls and pillars inside the Civil Affairs Office, installing lighting devices as well.

A bio wall is a device installed on walls that combines air-purifying plants with a purification function system, which not only purifies the air but also helps reduce energy consumption used for heating and cooling.

Additionally, the district renovated the existing photo zone so that any resident visiting the Civil Affairs Office can commemorate and take photos of special days.

The background image of the photo zone was brightened and benches were placed to improve comfort for residents taking photos.

Mayor Kim Seon-gap said, "By transforming the bleak office into a nature-friendly space, we hope to provide psychological stability to employees and create a healing space, even if only briefly, for residents visiting the Civil Affairs Office."
