Gyeonggi Fire Department Achieves Results in Public Institutions' 'Non-Face-to-Face Fire Training'... Completed Education at 54 Locations

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters' proposal to the National Fire Agency for 'non-face-to-face joint fire drills' for public institutions is showing results.

The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters announced on the 12th that since the 16th of last month, joint fire drills for public institutions in the province have been conducted in a non-face-to-face manner, with 7,989 people from 54 institutions having completed the training so far.

Earlier, when joint drills were disrupted due to the spread of COVID-19, the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters requested the National Fire Agency to change the joint fire drills to a non-face-to-face audiovisual training method. The National Fire Agency promptly accepted this.

To prevent infection, all participants wear masks and maintain sufficient safety distance while fire officials attend as training instructors during the education sessions.

Additionally, audiovisual materials produced by the Korea Fire Safety Institute and materials held by each fire station are utilized. Institutions wishing to receive training can coordinate the desired date and time with their respective fire station to participate.

Kim Seong-gon, Head of Disaster Response at the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters, stated, "Until COVID-19 is over, joint fire drills for public institutions will be conducted through non-face-to-face audiovisual video training," adding, "We will do our best to ensure high-quality educational outcomes."
