[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Hampyeong County, Jeollanam-do (County Governor Lee Sang-ik) announced on the 12th that it was selected as an excellent institution in the '2020 First Half Local Finance Rapid Execution Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and received a special grant of 41 million won.
The county extended its consecutive award record from 2 to 3 years by being selected as an excellent institution again in the first half of this year, following its selection as the best institution in both the first and second halves of 2018 and 2019.
The local finance execution evaluation is a comprehensive budget execution evaluation conducted twice a year, in the first and second halves, by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety targeting local governments nationwide to secure budget execution efficiency and revitalize the local economy.
This year, the county received the highest score in the consumption investment sector, which has a significant economic ripple effect, among the three evaluation items consisting of ▲ rapid execution performance ▲ quarterly performance of consumption investment ▲ job projects.
Also, in the rapid execution performance sector, it recorded an execution rate of 66%, far exceeding the 57% target set by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, receiving uniformly good evaluations across all indicators.
Lee Sang-ik, Hampyeong County Governor, said, “The frequent financial execution reporting meetings held so far and active encouragement to underperforming departments seem to have led to this good result,” and added, “We will promptly allocate the budget to the right places during the remaining period to achieve good results in the second half evaluation as well.”
