[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] As the number of single- and two-person households increases, interest in self-interior design is growing, leading to the expansion of the subscription market related to interior design.

According to the industry on the 12th, monthly subscription services are increasing, centered around companies in the home interior field.

Hanssem has been focusing on expanding its Rehouse business, including acquiring the online interior platform startup ‘Instereor’ earlier this year, and has now actively entered the subscription economy market. Through its home care business, it provides subscription-based management services segmented into five functions: ▲Furniture Care ▲Kitchen & Bath Care ▲Home Appliance Care ▲Living Environment Care ▲Insulation Products.

For Furniture Care, services include bed mattress and sofa maintenance; Kitchen & Bath Care offers sink ceramic coating, hood cleaning, and bathroom mold prevention services. Home Appliance Care involves disassembly and cleaning of large appliances such as washing machines, refrigerators, and air conditioners. Living Environment Care mainly covers drain cleaning, replacement of old faucets, and installation and management of dust-proof screens.

Flower subscription services that send new bouquets every month without needing gifts are also popular. Kkukka provides a bouquet delivery service every two weeks, offering various sizes and arrangements ranging from 10,000 KRW to 40,000 KRW with seasonally appropriate flowers. More than 30,000 flowers are delivered monthly, revitalizing interior spaces.

Subscription services for receiving new artworks from different artists every month are increasing in popularity, especially among single- and two-person households concerned about interior design. Pinzzle’s art subscription service offers exclusive prints of foreign artists’ works, never before introduced in Korea, in A1 size for around 20,000 KRW per month. A Pinzzle representative explained that the number of subscribers is steadily increasing, mainly among young people, as they can enjoy diverse works by artists who have already been validated for popularity through platforms like Instagram.

Experts predict that with the recent surge in home purchases by actual buyers due to government-led real estate regulations, demand for interior remodeling is also likely to increase, and accordingly, the interior subscription market is expected to show steady growth.
