On the 11th (local time), according to Reuters, Amitabh Bachchan announced on his Twitter, "I tested positive for COVID-19 and have been moved to the hospital," adding, "My family and the staff who have been living with me are also being tested and we are waiting for the results."
He continued, "Everyone who has been close to me in the past 10 days must get tested."
His son, actor Abhishek Bachchan, also revealed on Twitter that he tested positive for COVID-19 on the same day. Abhishek Bachchan wrote, "My father and I are showing mild symptoms," and urged, "Everyone should not panic and stay calm."
Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan have been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai, India.
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan is an actor and producer who has appeared in over 190 Bollywood films since the late 1960s. He is especially known to domestic fans for his role as Meyer Wolfsheim in the movie "The Great Gatsby," starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
