[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Bae Hyun-jin, a member of the Future United Party, stated on the 11th that "the second trial regarding the allegations of military service corruption involving the late Park Won-soon, Mayor of Seoul, and his son Park Ju-shin has been suspended for over a year," and added, "I hope he will confidently undergo a retrial and attend the second trial to conclusively resolve the allegations that have long troubled his father."
On the same day, Bae said on Facebook, "First, I express my deep condolences to the bereaved family for the tragic choice made by Mayor Park and their sudden grief."
Bae also said, "In a will written by Park Ju-shin's father 18 years ago, it was stated that 'honesty and sincerity' are the family's legacy," and added, "I expect him to uphold his father's wishes."
Bae stated, "There is no distinction in status regarding the military service obligation that all men in the Republic of Korea must fulfill."
