KOTRA, Additional Recruitment of Companies Using 'Overseas Logistics Network'

Support for Inbound/Outbound, Storage, and Import Agency Services at 127 Overseas Trade Centers in 84 Countries

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] KOTRA announced on the 12th that it will recruit additional companies to use the 'Overseas Logistics Network' service established at 127 trade centers worldwide.

The Overseas Logistics Network service is a project supported by KOTRA in 127 overseas trade centers located in 84 countries, providing services such as inbound and outbound logistics, storage, packaging, delivery, exchange, returns, and import agency. In the recruitment earlier this year, the number of supported companies exceeded last year's within three weeks. KOTRA decided to inject emergency funds by securing the third supplementary budget.

It is expected to be useful for non-face-to-face export methods such as e-commerce, which have increased due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). KOTRA's infrastructure can also be utilized for 'stock sales,' where inventory is held and sold at local logistics warehouses. According to KOTRA, this can solve the problem where companies taking their first steps in export fail to continue to subsequent exports after initial transactions.

KOTRA is focusing on recruiting companies in world-class products, K-quarantine, and materials, parts, and equipment sectors to diversify supply sources. It is also cooperating with Amazon to enable export companies listed on online distribution networks to use the logistics network.

The Overseas Logistics Network service can be applied for online on the KOTRA website. KOTRA will double the support funds and select companies on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget is exhausted.
