LGU+ Launches 'Dream Big Data Program' for Digital Talent Development

From New Employee to Team Leader: Diverse... 'Hands-on Training' Using Real-World Tasks

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Uplus announced on the 12th that it has launched the DX education program "Dream Big Data Course" to cultivate the capabilities of its internal members in line with the trend of digital transformation (DX) expansion.

The Dream Big Data Course is a one-month education program designed to help LG Uplus members become talents equipped with decision-making and problem-solving skills based on DX.

The education is divided into two stages: "Understanding Data Analysis," which teaches the basic concepts of DX and how to use visualization tools, and "Data Business Insight," which involves carrying out data analysis programs based on real business tasks. The training will be conducted throughout July at the Data Mining Center of Seoul National University, following a practical curriculum linked to current business issues.

Members who complete the training will enter the "Data Talent Pool," which allows them to move to DX-related positions and play a role in changing the way DX and work are conducted within the organization. The target group for the training consists of about 50 members, ranging in age from mid-20s new employees to mid-40s team leaders. Their current roles are also diverse, including marketing, product planning, strategy, and human resources.

Lee Gi-won, head of talent development at LG Uplus, said, "Through this training program, which is conducted with various DX tasks, members will understand each other's tasks and collaborate to help solve LG Uplus's DX challenges." He added, "After analyzing the results of this training program, we plan to expand the number of trainees."
