[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jeong-ho] In "It's Okay to Not Be Okay," Seo Ye-ji begins to overcome her unhappy memories about her mother with the help of Kim Soo-hyun.
In episode 7 of the tvN weekend drama "It's Okay to Not Be Okay," which aired on the afternoon of the 11th, Go Moon-young (played by Seo Ye-ji) was tormented by nightmares.
That day, Go Moon-young, who was being haunted by her mother's spirit, said "Get out right now" when she saw Moon Kang-tae (Kim Soo-hyun) rushing into her room. However, she was actually holding onto his clothes tightly so he wouldn't leave. Because of this, Moon Kang-tae stayed up all night nursing Go Moon-young, and when she woke up the next day, she said, "I did nothing wrong. That woman kept pretending to be my mother. All I did was tell her that my mother is dead."
Meanwhile, Lee Sang-in (Kim Joo-heon), who heard from Moon Kang-tae that Go Moon-young was unwell, immediately came to the mansion. He realized that Go Moon-young's nightmares had started. Because of this, Lee Sang-in said angrily, "You can't stay here. Let's go to Seoul right now. I'll knock you out if I have to and drag you along, so don't stop me. I clearly know how broken you'll become if you start being oppressed by that hallucination again. I absolutely can't leave you here."
Then Go Moon-young and Lee Sang-in got into a physical fight. Moon Kang-tae, who witnessed this, kicked Lee Sang-in out of the mansion. Afterwards, he took Go Moon-young outside and bought her some meat. While eating, Go Moon-young suddenly asked, "Have you ever slept with a woman?" and then questioned, "You don't seem to have any desires. Nothing you want to eat or have. And you seem indifferent to everything without anything you particularly want to do, right?"
Moon Kang-tae looked at Go Moon-young with a baffled expression and said, "You endure it. Not everyone lives doing everything they want like you do." But Go Moon-young said, "Don't endure it. What's so hard about that? Should I pull your safety pin? I'm curious what would happen if you didn't hold back and exploded," which embarrassed Moon Kang-tae.
That night, Go Moon-young and Moon Kang-tae stayed together until dinner, and when Moon Kang-tae received a call from Nam Ju-ri (Park Gyu-young), Go Moon-young answered it instead. Learning that Moon Kang-tae even took a day off for her, Go Moon-young asked, "Did you skip work because you were worried about me? Took me out to cool me down and even went on a date?" When Moon Kang-tae replied that it wasn't a date, she asked what the whole day had been then.
Especially, Go Moon-young said as if she understood, "Fine. Let's date." Hearing this, Moon Kang-tae said, "Do you know how many times I've heard that from you? Last night and the day before, too. Last night, it sounded like you were telling me not to go. I ran away before, but today I felt like I had to stay with you. That's all," rejecting her. Go Moon-young smiled, pleased with Moon Kang-tae's answer that he wouldn't run away this time, unlike before.
Meanwhile, Moon Kang-tae recalled memories about his mother through Eun-ja and handed her a doll he made himself named Mang-tae, explaining, "If you hold this in your hand while sleeping, it collects your nightmares in this Mang-tae basket and eats them all night. Then you can sleep comfortably." Go Moon-young seemed to like the doll quite a bit and fell asleep clutching it tightly.
The next day, Go Moon-young visited the hospital and ran into Eun-ja, who had caused a commotion last time. Eun-ja apologized upon seeing Go Moon-young, and Go Moon-young, liking Eun-ja's shoulder shawl, asked for it. Moon Kang-tae, who knew the meaning behind the shawl, looked embarrassed, but Eun-ja readily told her to take it. After Go Moon-young took the shawl, Eun-ja said, "My shoulders feel lighter now."
Later, Moon Kang-tae approached Go Moon-young, who was wearing the shawl, and talked about her fairy tale book "The Dog of Spring Day," saying, "Well done, Go Moon-young. Didn't you help yourself break free?" Stimulated by this, Go Moon-young boldly cut her hair, which she had been forced to grow long since childhood because her mother never allowed her to cut it short.
After cutting her hair messily, Go Moon-young smiled slyly and said, "I cut the leash," when Moon Kang-tae returned home. Moon Kang-tae smiled back at her. Then he trimmed Go Moon-young's hair again, and seeing his changed appearance, Go Moon-young smiled, clearly pleased.
Meanwhile, "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9 p.m.
