The spokesperson for North Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to a question from a reporter of the Korean Central News Agency on the same day, stating, "The UK, a puppet of the United States, has committed a serious provocative act by designating our State Security Department and Social Security Department as the first targets of sanctions based on false and fabricated materials provided by defector trash."
He continued, "This action by the UK is a shabby political conspiracy thoroughly riding on the US's hostile policy toward Korea (North Korea). We strongly condemn it as a violent interference in our country's internal affairs and firmly reject it."
The spokesperson also sarcastically remarked, "If you claim some sort of independence and have withdrawn from the European Union (EU), shouldn't you act with your own judgment instead of blindly following the United States?"
Meanwhile, on the 6th, the UK included two North Korean forced labor camps, where forced labor, torture, and murder occurred, in its list of unilateral sanctions targets. Those listed will have their assets frozen in the UK and be banned from entry.
