[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] Interpark Theater, which operates multiple performance venues including Blue Square and Ewha Womans University Samsung Hall, will support 20-50% of the rental fees for non-face-to-face performance art content at its affiliated venues.
The rental fee support applies only to non-face-to-face content operated without on-site audiences or participants and is applicable to Blue Square I Market Hall, Hapjeong Station Shinhan Card Fansquare, Ewha Womans University Samsung Hall, and Busan Sohyang Theater Shinhan Card Hall among Interpark Theater’s affiliated venues.
The support period is from July to December 2020, on weekdays from Monday to Thursday, with discount rates varying between 20-50% depending on the nature of the content and the size of the theater. Production companies and organizations wishing to rent can submit the rental application and related documents through each theater’s website.
Lee Jong-gyu, CEO of Interpark Theater, stated, "We initiated the rental fee support for non-face-to-face performance art content to share the pain and overcome together the unprecedented difficulties faced by the performing arts industry due to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19)." He added, "All venues under Interpark Theater are doing their best to ensure safe performances by conducting regular disinfection, checking the temperature of all audience members, and having them fill out health questionnaires."
